The Rapture
Attention Christians and Christian Organizations!

Are you looking forward to the Rapture? Many Christians are.  It will be amazing to be escorted to Heaven and escape the Tribulation.  If you are like most Christians, however, you have never really given a second thought to what will happen to your assets and estate at the Rapture.  When asked about the matter, most Christians shrug their shoulders and say, "Who cares? I'll be gone.  Let those who are left behind sort it all out."  Certainly, the issues of how to handle our assets would just be a fraction of the chaos that will persist following the Rapture--a chaos that will no doubt aggravate the magnitude of the Tribulation.

Similarly, if you operate or are a member of a church or Christian ministry, what will happen to your organization's assets after the Rapture?  Will unsaved persons get control of your organization's assets?  Will your organization's assets escheat to the state as unclaimed property?  Is that the best use of your organization's assets?

Being a Steward . . . After the Rapture

Wouldn't we be more responsible, better stewards of our resources if we had terms in our wills, indicating that, in the event of the Rapture, our assets and estate are to be used to promote the Gospel?

Similarly, wouldn't we best fulfill the missions and ministries of our churches and other Christian organizations if, in the event of the Rapture, the net assets of such organizations were applied to spread the Gospel and care for those who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ?

The directors of Rapture Fund think so.  We believe that, consistent with the Parable of the Talents, we make the best use of what God has given to us if we prepare for the Rapture--even from a legal perspective.

Adding Rapture Terms to Your Will

Rapture Fund has developed Rapture Terms that can be used to amend your will. We believe that every Christian should add such terms to his or her will. The Rapture Terms that we have prepared indicate that, in the event of the Rapture, all or a significant portion of the testator's estate is to be given to the Rapture Fund--an organization dedicated to promoting the Gospel both now (using charitable contributions made by donors during their lifetimes) and during the Tribulation (using assets donated by those who have signed the Rapture Terms). The Rapture Terms to your Last Will and Testament also allow you to leave a gift for loved ones who might remain after the Rapture.

Amend Your Organization's Charter

Rapture Fund has also developed a proposed amendment for your organization's charter (or articles of incorporation, as applicable).  The proposed amendment is accompanied by draft Minutes of a Meeting wherein your organization's appropriate officials adopt the amendment.  The amendment provides that, in the event of the Rapture, your organization's net assets are to be distributed to the Rapture Fund.  The Rapture Fund will use those assets to evangelize and provide relief to those who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ after the Rapture.

Nothing to Lose

You've got nothing to lose.  If the Rapture occurs during your lifetime, your estate will create a legacy of evangelism during the Tribulation, adding souls to the Kingdom of Heaven while you're celebrating with Jesus Christ.  If the Rapture doesn't occur during your lifetime, then the Rapture Terms never go into effect.  However, at your death, your loved ones will see your testimony and, in reviewing the Rapture Terms to your Last Will and Testament, will most likely reflect on their relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Rapture Terms to your Last Will and Testament thus can provide an opportunity for you to witness to loved ones, even after your death--an excellent legacy.

Similarly, if your organization adopts the proposed charter amendment, and the Rapture occurs, your organization can be assured that its mission will carry forward with the Rapture Fund.  If the Rapture doesn't occur during the existence of your organization, however, then the Rapture provisions never come into effect.  There simply is no downside.
